Box Score

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. —
A.J. Thomas put a nice finishing touch on Southern Nazarene's longest road trip of the year with a season-high 21 points in a 71-60 win over Oklahoma City, Thursday night.

The senior guard drilled four 3-pointers and went 7-for-10 from the field to lead the way for the Crimson Storm (13-3, 6-2 SAC). Both Xavier Alexander and C.J. Henry each had 12 as Alexander was 5-for-7 from the field with six rebounds while Henry went 8-for-10 from the line. Milos Milosevic also added eight points and six boards as well.

SNU scored 18 points off of 16 OCU turnovers and out rebounded the Stars 32-26 with 13 of those rebounds coming on the offensive end. The Storm scored 13 points off second chances. Both turnovers and second chance buckets helped Southern Nazarene overcome 51.2 percent (21-41) shooting from the floor by Oklahoma City.

There were seven lead changes and just as many ties in the first half, but with just a little more than five minutes left in the first half, the Storm began to take over the game.

OCU led 28-26 when Milosevic hit a bucket in the paint to spark a 12-5 run as SNU closed out the first half with a 38-33 lead. The Crimson Storm then extended their lead to eight early in the second half before a 12-5 run by the Stars cut the lead to one with 13:09 to play.

That was also close as Oklahoma City came.

Thomas and Henry hit a free throw each before Thomas completed a traditional 3-point play to put SNU back up by six. The Crimson Storm extended their lead to 10 five different times before the Storm took their biggest lead of the game on the final point of the game with a Henry free throw.

SNU now plays eight of its night nine games at home. The extended home stretch begins Saturday night against Mid-America Christian at 8 p.m.
