Crimson Storm Wrap Up GAC Championships with Strong Performances in Searcy

Men place seventh and women finish fifth as Thrash wins heptathlon and multiple Storm athletes deliver standout marks across the board

SEARCY, Ark. - The Crimson Storm wrapped up the Great American Conference Championships with the men finishing seventh overall with a team score of 35.5, while the women placed fifth overall with a team score of 55.5.

On the men's side, Quinton Zirretta led the way in the 100 meters, placing fourth in the finals with a time of 10.64 after running 10.56 in the prelims.

James Beasley placed ninth in prelims with a time of 10.78, Patrick Uzzle finished 12th in 10.85, and Ian Locke recorded an 11.09 to place 17th.


In the 200 meters, Michael Styles placed fourth in the finals with a time of 21.43 after running 21.52 in prelims. Zirretta placed ninth in prelims at 21.78, followed by Beasley in 15th (21.93), Uzzle in 19th (22.74), Gary Russell in 25th (23.09), Ke'Lin Kearney in 27th (23.21), and Maximus Washington in 30th (24.62).

Styles also competed in the 400 meters, placing fifth in the finals with a time of 48.23 after running 48.33 in prelims. Josh Montelongo placed 17th in prelims at 50.58, Kearney placed 18th in 50.79, Terrance Green placed 19th in 50.90, and Washington placed 24th in 52.86.

Keith Howerton competed in the 1500 meters, placing 29th with a time of 4:10.47. In the 110-meter hurdles, Terrance Green placed 11th with a time of 16.96.

The 4x400 relay team of Maximus Washington, James Beasley, Terrance Green, and Michael Styles placed fourth with a time of 3:20.13.

In the field events, Gabe Rush placed third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.99m and added a ninth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.61m. Patrick Uzzle placed 11th in the long jump with 6.46m, Dillion Breckenridge placed 20th with 6.21m, and Gary Russell placed 23rd with 6.12m.

Jessiah Burris placed 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.86m and also placed eighth in the decathlon with 5519 points.

In the throws, Colter Bufford placed 11th in the shot put with a mark of 13.41m and finished third in the javelin with a throw of 61.64m. Johnaton

Haywood placed fifth in the discus with a mark of 47.80m, ninth in the hammer with a throw of 44.10m, and 21st in the javelin with 41.11m. Ian Locke placed 23rd in the javelin with a mark of 39.24m.


On the women's side, Abriel Thrash led the way with a first-place finish in the heptathlon, scoring 5267 points. She also placed fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.68m, fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.45m, 13th in the shot put with 12.02m, and 10th in the javelin with a throw of 34.95m.

Micky McAlexander placed fourth in the heptathlon with 4705 points. She also placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 13.83m and fourth in the javelin with a throw of 37.62m.

Lexi Atteberry placed fourth in the discus with a mark of 44.43m, seventh in the shot put with a throw of 13.17m, and 14th in the hammer with a mark of 38.16m.

In the pole vault, May Pachner placed second with a clearance of 3.58m, Shyla Navarre placed sixth with 3.43m, and Jazzmine Pinto placed ninth with 3.13m. Navarre also placed 11th in the javelin with a throw of 34.42m.

On the track, Alexis Williams placed 17th in the 200 meters with a time of 25.73 and 14th in the 400 meters with a time of 57.90. In the hurdles, Mati Fowler placed 13th in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.94 and 12th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:08.52, while Emmi Robertson placed 17th in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.15. Tylie Thrash placed 11th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.54.

The 4x100 relay team of Shyla Navarre, Abriel Thrash, Tylie Thrash, and Alexis Williams placed seventh with a time of 48.81, while the 4x400 relay team of Tylie Thrash, Abriel Thrash, Alexis Williams, and Micky McAlexander also placed seventh with a time of 3:55.35.

Ivy Brennan placed 11th in the heptathlon with 3221 points and also placed 19th in the high jump with a clearance of 1.48m.

The Crimson Storm also saw success in the classroom, with multiple athletes earning GAC Academic honors.

2026 Women's Track & Field Academic Awards were awarded to Sarah Herring, Kelsi Hilton, Remi Murray, Reagan Rowton, and Abby Salter.

On the men's side, Tyler Deisering, Keith Howerton, Michael Styles, and Dylan Warden were named to the 2026 Men's Track & Field Academic Awards list.


Colter Bufford was also recognized as a GAC Elite Scholar Athlete, highlighting his excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
