BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene Athletics and SNU Women's Basketball Head Coach,
Trent May, are proud to announce Frankie Parks and Jordyn Turner as the newest additions to the Women's Basketball coaching staff.
Parks comes to SNU from Norman High School, where he spent 11 years on the Women's Basketball coaching staff. He was an assistant coach from 2014 to 2021 before taking over the program as the head coach in 2022 to 2025. During his stint at Norman High, the program made five state tournament appearances in seven years, while collecting State Championships in 2019 and 2021. Parks also helped lead the Tigers to a State Runner-Up finish in 2023 and a State Semifinals finish in 2025.Â
Frankie is also a seasoned AAU Women's Basketball coach who has served as a head coach for several competitive AAU teams. He began coaching AAU basketball in 2014 and over the past ten years has seen plenty of success. He is currently the head coach of the 17U Team Lex Under Armour Team. He has collected two Primetime Nationals Runner-Up titles, a MAYB National Runner-Up title, a State AAU Championship, an AAU Nationals 4th Place finish, an AAU Nationals Runner-Up title, a MAYB National Championship, and two Adidas Circuit Runner-Up titles.Â
Coach Parks attended Ottawa University from 1993-1995 and was a member of the Men's Basketball team. He was a part of the 1994-1995 KCAC Conference Championship team which earned a berth to the NAIA National Tournament. Frankie attended both Ottawa and Cameron University where he earned his bachelor's degree in communications.
Frankie is married to his wife Melissa and they reside in Norman, Oklahoma. The couple has three daughters Yasmine, Mikayla, and Keeley. Yasmine is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and resides in Oklahoma City. Mikayla graduated from Norman High School in 2022 and is currently a member of the Kansas State Women's Basketball team. Keeley is a 2025 graduate of Norman High School and is a member of the University of Kansas Women's Basketball Team.Â

I particularly admire the discipline he demonstrates in his personal life and how seamlessly that translates to his team's discipline on the court. Jordyn Turner joins the Crimson Storm after playing four years of collegiate basketball. Jordyn began her career at the University of Texas at Arlington where she played two seasons for the Mavericks. She was a part of UT Arlington's 2021-2022 Conference Championship team. Turner then took her talents to Texas Southern where she competed one season with the Tigers. She finished her career at the University of Central Oklahoma where she played one season with the Bronchos. Jordyn graduated from UCO with her bachelor's degree in general studies in 2025.
Turner is a native of Oklahoma City and graduated from Casady High School.Â
"We are truly blessed to have Jordyn as our Graduate Assistant. I've known Jordyn since her junior year of high school and have thoroughly enjoyed watching her grow over the years. Her dedication to pursuing her aspirations and working diligently to achieve them is truly inspiring. Jordyn is continuing her journey to become a coach, and there's no doubt in my mind that she will be a great one," shared May.
SNU Women's Basketball is coming off of another successful season as they claimed their third straight Regular Season GAC Championship. The Storm also made their third straight appearance in the DII NCAA Tournament.
