SHAWNEE, Okla. - The Crimsons Storm wrapped up the Great American Conference Championships with both squads finishing seventh overall, the men tallied a score of 42.33, while the women finished with a score of 37.
On the men's side,
Brendan Cravens had a standout performance in the decathlon, finishing third overall with 6005 points and earning First Team All-GAC honors. Cravens also had a solid meet in individual events, placing fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.89m, eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.46m, and seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 13.37, also grabbing All-GAC Honorable Mention in the triple jump.
Colter Bufford showed out in the javelin, taking first place with a mark of 67.35m. Not only did he bring home First Team All-GAC honors, but he also broke the SNU school record and set a new GAC Championship meet record. Bufford also earned All-GAC Honorable Mention in the shot put with a throw of 14.30m.
Josh Montelongo had a strong weekend on the track, placing second in the 400 meters with a time of 47.66 and earning First Team All-GAC honors. He also grabbed third in the prelims of the 400m with a time of 48.43 and finished ninth in the 200 meters with a time of 21.86.
Maximus Washington placed tenth in the 400 meters with a time of 49.05. In the 110m hurdles,
Karson Hetherington finished ninth with a time of 16.65, with
Korbyn Asencio right behind in tenth with a time of 17.00. Asencio also ran the 400 hurdles, finishing ninth with a time of 1:00.71, followed by
Malachi Allen in tenth with a time of 1:01.00.
In the pole vault,
Tyler Deisering earned All-GAC Honorable Mention with an eighth place finish and a mark of 4.30m.
The men's 4x100 relay team of
Jessiah Burris,
Josh Montelongo,
Patrick Uzzle, and
Maximus Washington took fourth place with a time of 42.26, earning Second Team All-GAC honors.
On the women's side,
Abriel Thrash dominated the heptathlon with a first place finish and 5103 points, bringing home First Team All-GAC honors. She also took fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.63m and fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.50m, earning her Second Team honors in the high jump. Thrash rounded out her weekend with a sixth place finish in the javelin with a mark of 35.42m also earning her Second Team honors.
Eve Brennan added to the women's team success in the throws. She placed second in the discus with a mark of 43.14m, earning Second Team All-GAC. She also grabbed fourth in the hammer throw of 45.04m, which also earned her Second Team honors. Brennan finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 12.10m, picking up an All-GAC Honorable Mention.
