SNU Competes at Kansas Relays

Crimson Storm takes on stacked competition in Lawrence with solid performances in distance events

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Southern Nazarene Track and Field made the trip north this weekend to compete in the Kansas Relays, hosted by the University of Kansas, with a ton of teams in attendance, the competition was stacked from start to finish. 

On the men's side, Keith Howerton ran a 2:02.47 in the 800 meters to place 28th, while Austin Miller followed close behind, finishing 33rd with a 2:07.45. In the 1500 meters, Daniel Ponce took 20th with a time of 4:07.94.

The men also competed in the 4x800 relay, where the team of Miller, Howerton, Patton, and Young placed 12th with a time of 8:06.68.

On the women's side, Elora Jones clocked a 2:32.52 in the 800 meters to place 26th. In the 1500 meters, Isabel Lynch earned 14th place with a time of 5:09.47.

The Crimson Storm will head to Shawnee, Oklahoma for the Great American Conference Championships, set to take place April 30 through May 3.
