SNU Shines in Wichita

Thrash sets school record, multiple PRs at KT Woodman Classic

WICHITA, Kan. - Southern Nazarene Track & Field made the trip to compete in the KT Woodman Classic hosted by Wichita State University.

On the men's side, Josh Montelongo had a strong showing in the 400 meters, placing seventh with a time of 48.34. He also helped the 4x400 relay alongside Jessiah Burris, Brendan Cravens, and Darius Petties, as the group claimed seventh with a time of 3:28.11.

The 4x100 relay team of Zayvion Brown, Jo'Quan Howard, Jessiah Burris, and Patrick Uzzle finished 15th with a time of 43.42.

In the field events, Tyler Deisering cleared 4.42 meters in the pole vault, placing fifth and hitting a season best. 

Brendan Cravens jumped 12.85 meters in the triple jump for 18th place, while Patrick Uzzle landed a mark of 6.47 meters in the long jump, a season best.

Uzzle also clocked a personal best in the 100 meters. Jo'Quan Howard hit a personal best in the 100, finishing with a time of 10.92.

In javelin, Colter Bufford threw 60.41 meters to place 10th and notched another NCAA Provisional Mark.

On the women's side, the 4x100 relay team of Jasmine Brown, Remi Murray, Cheyenne Gaymon, and Abriel Thrash took 13th overall.

Thrash had a huge day, winning the high jump with a school record 1.70 meters, hitting an NCAA Provisional Mark. She also placed sixth in the long jump and 16th in the shot put with a mark of 12.12 meters.

In the pole vault, Remi Murray cleared 3.34 meters and finished ninth.
