SNU Competes at Chile Pepper Festival

Storm Cross Country competes in third meet of the season in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Southern Nazarene cross country team traveled to Fayetteville on Saturday morning to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas. The Crimson Storm went up against strong competition and put together solid performances on both sides.

For the men, Keith Howerton led the way for SNU with a time of 30:27.8 to finish 167th overall. Andres Young followed close behind at 30:59.1 for 181st, while Myles Mayfield came in at 32:12.0 for 206th. Killian Smith and Elijah Petties rounded out the group with times of 47:29.1 and 52:00.8 in a field of 257 runners.

On the women's side, Southern Nazarene finished 21st out of 25 teams with a score of 529. Kelsi Hilton led the Storm, running a strong 19:35.0 to take 32nd overall. Tylie Thrash finished in 21:16.0 for 108th, followed by McCartney McAlexander at 21:58.7 for 132nd. Abriel Thrash had a time of 23:53.5, and Kaylee Eberhart finished in 24:58.5 out of 239 total women runners.

Southern Nazarene will travel to Dallas Saturday, October 11 to compete in the Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop hosted by Dallas Baptist University.
