Crimson Storm Compete at Friends University Spring Invitational

SNU Track and Field collect a handful of top-ten finishes at Friends University

WICHITA, Kan. - The Southern Nazarene Track and Field team headed to Wichita, Kansas to compete at Friends University. The Crimson Storm had some bright spots as they competed against numerous Division II, NAIA, NCCAA, and junior college talents.

The Crimson Storm women were highlighted with a handful of top-ten finishes as they competed against some top tier talent.

Carissa Burns continued to see success in the 200m race after she posted a time of 25.32 which was good for a sixth place finish in the event. She also grabbed a personal best in the 400m race after finishing twelfth out of 34 with a time of 1:02.37.

Abriel Thrash also tacked on two top-ten finishes. She posted a 1.60m mark in the high jump to earn a second place finish. She also earned a sixth place finish in the javelin throw with a 33.53m mark. 

Eve Brennan competed in the discus, finishing sixth of 49 throwers with a 37.91m mark. 

The SNU men also came home with a handful of top-ten finishes at the Friends University Spring Invite.

CaLee Williams grabbed two top-ten finishes over the weekend. He earned a tenth place finish in the 100 with a time of 10.70. 

Maximus Washington finished tenth in the 400m race after he posted a time of 51.45. 

The Crimson Storm 4x100m relay made up of Jessiah Burris, Jose Ortiz, Edward Thomas, and CaLee Williams finished with a time of 42.85 which was good for a sixth place finish.

Kielon McQuarters also had a tenth place finish in the high jump after he posted a 1.83m mark. 

Colter Bufford rounded out the group with two top-ten finishes. He earned a sixth place finish with a personal best mark of 13.75m. He also finished second in the javelin with a 51.14m mark.

Next Up

The Crimson Storm will head down the road to Norman to compete in the Sooner Invitational on Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13.
