Storm Travels to Norman for John Jacobs Invitational

SNU Track and Field compete at the University of Oklahoma in John Jacobs Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. - The Crimson Storm took a short trip to Norman as they competed at the University of Oklahoma in the John Jacobs Invitational. SNU competed against some top-tier talents from Division I, Division II, NAIA, and junior colleges. 

The SNU women went head-to-head with some tough opponents at the John Jacobs Invitational. Isabel Lynch was a bright spot for the Storm as she claimed an eighteenth-place finish out of 45 runners with a time of 5:04. 68. 

Eve Brennan also grabbed a top-20 finish in the discus. She finished eighteenth with a 38.84m mark which also earned her a personal best.

Abriel Thrash continued to prove she is one of the best in the country as she finished third in the heptathlon. Thrash finished above opponents from Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. She finished second in the 200m with a time of 25.37 which earned her a personal best. She also finished second in the 800m with a time of 2:29.15. Thrash finished the heptathlon with an overall score of 4933 which earned her a personal best and an NCAA provisional.

The Crimson Storm men also faced some tough opponents over the weekend. The duo of Daniel Ponce and William Ramirez was unphased as they both snagged top-20 finishes in the 1500m race. Ponce finished fifteenth with a time of 4:14.41. Ramirez finished close behind in eighteenth place with a time of 4:18.49. 

Colter Bradford saw success in the field events as he finished with an eighteenth place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.43m. He also claimed a fifth-place finish in the javelin with a 51.79m mark.

Southern Nazarene will return to Oklahoma Baptist to compete in the Ford Mastin Twilight meet on Saturday, April 20.
