Storm Members Compete at Steve Miller Invitational

SNU Track and Field athletes compete at Kansas State in Steve Miller Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Storm rounded out their indoor season at the Steve Miller Invitational at Kansas State University. Only a handful of Storm members headed to K-State to compete as they all saw success in their events, competing against Division I and Division II talent.

Austin Miller, Kieth Howerton, and Kayden Chaparro were the three male SNU members represented at the Steve Miller Invitational. They all competed in the 800m race and they finished one behind the other. 

Howerton claimed the sixth place finish with a time of 1:59.77 that collected him a personal best in the event. Miller finished close behind in seventh place with a time of 2:01.23. He also posted a personal best in the event. Chaparro rounded out the group with an eighth-place finish with a time of 2:01.49. 

Abriel Thrash was the lone female representing the Storm. Thrash competed in multiple events collecting an eleventh place finish in the 200m race. She also claimed a ninth-place finish in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 9.34. She finished the meet collecting a fifth-place finish in the women's high jump with a 5'3" mark. 

Next Up

The Storm will look to finish their indoor season strong as they compete at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Pittsburg State University March 7-9.
