Crimson Storm Host and Compete in SNU Indoor Invitational

SNU collected a handful of top 10 finishes at the SNU Indoor Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. - The Crimson Storm hosted the SNU Invitational inside the Mosier Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma where they competed against several Division I, Division II, and NAIA programs.

Southern Nazarene had numerous bright spots as they hosted top talent in the SNU Invitational. The Crimson Storm men and women collected a handful of top-10 finishes to start the new year.

Abriel Thrash continued to see success on the women's side. She collected a second-place finish in the high jump with a 1.63m mark. Thash alongside Athena Hutzel, Chloe Brumage, and Carissa Burns competed in the 4x400m collecting an eighth-place finish. 

Isabel Lynch also made a statement for the Crimson Storm. She led the way in the women's mile placing fourth with a time of 5:39.61. 

The Crimson Storm men saw some bright spots throughout the meet. CaLee Williams and Patrick Uzzle were near the top of the long jump board. Uzzle placed second in his flight while Williams was in fourth. 

Three of the Crimson Storm men's 4x400m teams placed in the top 10. Jessiah Burris, Dylan Warden, Brendan Cravens, and Jo'Quan Howard led the Storm and placed third in the 4x400m.

William Ramirez led SNU in the 3000m with a time of 9:30.08 to earn a tenth-place finish. Ramirez also earned a top-10 finish in the mile with a 4:38.35 time to collect an eighth-place finish. Daniel Ponce followed close behind with a ninth-place finish and a time of 4:39.01.

Austin Miller ran a 2:03.36 800m earning a fifth-place finish. Malachai Allen finished third in the 600m race with a time of 1:17.46. The Storm had numerous top-10 finishes in the 400m. 
Scott Lynch led the way with a first-place finish and a time of 51.56. Cedric Petties, Jose Ortiz, and Maximus Washington also finished in the top 10 of the 400m. 

Next Up

The Crimson Storm will return to action Thursday January 27th as they travel to Pittsburgh State. Southern Nazarene will compete in the Wendy's Invitational in the Robert W. Plaster Center.
