LAWTON, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Cross Country team headed down the road to Lawton on the campus of Cameron University to open up their 2023 season. The Storm went on to have a wonderful day competing at Big Green Soccer Complex in Lawton.
The women started the day off running a 5k race and the men finished up the day running an 8k race.
The women took to the course first finishing 3rd overall behind Oklahoma Christian and Cameron. The women's team was led by Sabbatha Taylor who finished 8th for the Storm running a 20:14. Elora Jones and Tiffany Watson came in the top-20. Jones finished 12th running 21:00 and Watson finished 18th running 21:41.
The men's team followed up with a 4th place finish behind Northwestern Oklahoma State, Cameron, and Oklahoma Christian. The Storm was led by freshman David Ponce who finished 18th running a 27:43. William Ramirez and Kayden Chaparro also finished in the top-25.
