RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference released its 2022-2023 Academic All-Conference list and Southern Nazarene came second to Harding with 163 total honors.
 
The Storm highlighted the list of awards in multiple sports, with football, men's soccer, and women's basketball all representing the highest total awards in their respective sports. Football's 44 honorees represented the highest of any sport in the conference. Men's Soccer led their sport with 24 honorees while Women's Basketball led theirs with 12. 
 
Both Storm Baseball and Volleyball added to SNU's performance by producing the second-most All-Academic selections. 
 
As stated by the GAC, "For student-athletes to be recognized on the Academic All-Conference team, they must have enrolled as freshmen prior to the fall of 2022. In addition, their grade-point average must be a minimum of 3.30 based on the 4.0 system. The GPA shall be cumulative for the athlete's entire collegiate career." 
 
Southern Nazarene's student athletes' work inside the classroom contributed to the GAC's overall 1,380 academic honors, an increase of 35 from the year prior.
