Brelee Mauldin Giving Day

Giving Day Spotlight: Brelee Mauldin

BETHANY, Okla. - When Brelee Mauldin came to SNU, it was a family connection that drew her in. Her sister was already playing volleyball here, and was a big part of her decision.

Coming from out of state, Brelee initially went to a different school, but transferred to Southern Nazarene because "it was about so much more than volleyball. This school has introduced me to some of my best friends." These friendships, she says, have been formed not in the big moments, but in the daily rhythm of class, practice, chapel, and sharing meals together.

Brelee has grown deeply in her love for Jesus too. She loves that her professors and her coaches pray before every class and practice. She feels encouraged to be authentic in her faith in a new and fresh way. Some of her favorite memories on campus are going to chapel with her teammates, because there is "something so special about worshipping together."

Southern Nazarene University has also prepared her academically, as Brelee hopes to attend Physical Therapy school after college and eventually work with children in an in-patient setting. She credits the small class sizes for helping her develop personal relationships with her professors as well.

Brelee wants SNU Athletics supporters to know that their generosity makes a powerful difference in the lives of the students on campus. "This is a once in a lifetime experience," she says. Because of gifts from donors like you, she's able to pursue academics and athletics. "I don't have to just pick one."
