NORMAN, Okla. - The Crimson Storm headed to the University of Oklahoma to compete at the J.D. Martin Invitational. Southern Nazarene went head to head with numerous Division I, Division II, and NAIA schools.
The women saw some success in Norman after numerous top-10 placements.
Abriel Thrash found herself in the top 5 in the high jump and the 60-meter hurdles. Thrash finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.12. She also snagged a third-place finish in the high jump with a 1.60m mark.
Carissa Burns finished in the top 10 in the 200-meters collecting a ninth-place finish.
Tiffany Watson also had a top-10 finish, placing ninth in the 600-yard race.
Abbey King and Noelle Brezillac both finished in the top 10 of the 800-meter race. King finished in ninth with 2:52.55 time and Brezillac finished in tenth with a time of 3:00.36.
Isabel Lynch grabbed an eighth-place finish in the mile with a time of 5:43.10.
The men's team also saw a lot of success and numerous top-10 finishes.
Calee Williams and Blake Wynne both finished in the top 10 in the 60-meter race. Williams ran a 6.98 for a seventh-place finish while Wynne followed in eighth place with a time of 6.98 as well.
Angel Hedrick was outstanding in the 200-meter race finishing in third with a 22.59 time. Maximus Washington rounded out the 200-meter top-10 with a time of 23.43.
Cedric Petties led the way for the Storm in the 400-meters finishing in fourth with a time of 52.28. Jose Ortiz also finished in the top 10 with a time of 52.68 for a sixth-place finish.
Malachai Allen finished in third place with a time of 1:16.28 in the 600-yards. Keith Howerton was not far behind with a seventh-place finish and a time of 1:19.04.
Austin Miller led the way in the 800-meter finishing first with a time of 2:02.61. Kayden Chapparro was right behind him in second with a time of 2:02.98. Dennis Green and Dakota Norvel also grabbed top-10 finishes in the 800-meter.
The Storm men also saw great success in the mile. Daniel Ponce finished in third with a time of 4:39.35. Joel Haynes followed in fourth, while William Ramirez, Jordan Ruvalcaba, and Jacob Humphrey also tabbed in the top-10.
The Wynne, Hedrick, Ortiz, and Allen 4x400-meter relay team finished in third while the other two SNU relay teams finished in sixth and seventh place.
Kielon McQuarters finished second in the high jump with a 1.95m mark while Brendan Cravens followed with a second-place finish with a 1.80m mark.
Blake Wynne won the long jump with a 6.65m mark. Patrick Uzzle came in third with a 6.37m mark. Ezra Johnson, Jessiah Burris, and Calee Williams all finished in the top 10 as well.
The Storm rounded out their stellar performances with a fifth-place finish in the shot put from Colter Bradford with a mark of 13.71m. Dylan Warden collected a tenth-place finish with a 10.09m mark.
