Storm Volleyball Grabs Two All-GAC Honors

SNU Volleyball rounds out their season with two All-GAC honors

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The Great American Conference has released its All-GAC Volleyball teams and the Crimson Storm snagged two spots to round out the 2023 season.

Sunny Batschelett and Whitney Bowie were selected to the All-GAC teams after putting together a great year. Batcheselett was named to the All-GAC First Team and Bowie was named All-GAC Honorable Mention.

Batschelett, a senior right-side hitter, checked in on the All-GAC First Team for the second year in a row. Batschelett led the Storm offense with a total of 382 kills for the season, which landed her 5th on the GAC leaderboard. She also led SNU in hitting percentage, hitting .279 for the season. Batschelett collected her 1,000th career kill against Minnesota-Mankato at the Fort Hays State Tiger Classic at the beginning of this season. She wrapped up her career in the Crimson Storm uniform this season leaving a lasting impression.

Bowie, a junior middle blocker, was named to the All-GAC Honorable Mention team. This marks Bowie's second All-GAC honor as she found herself on the All-GAC Second Team last season. This season, Bowie tallied 198 kills for the Crimson Storm and tallied a hitting percentage of .200. She also led SNU with 93 blocks, ranking her 7th in the GAC.

Bowie will return to Head Coach Kevin Ingram's squad next year as they look to fill the large shoes of Batchelett. The Storm will also look to some young talent to make an impact next season.
