BETHANY, Okla. — Bethany, Oklahoma was packed for Oklahoma City University's Cross Country Invitational, where a number of teams kicked off their first meet of the season, including Southern Nazarene's Men's and Women's teams who had an excellent day at Eldon Lyon Park.
To begin the season, the women ran the 3km run while the men wrapped up with the 6km run.
The women ran the course first, finishing third overall behind Oklahoma Christian and Oklahoma City. Graduate Student and Storm Cross Country veteran Madalyn Harper raced to a 3rd place finish out of 31 total runners, almost running a 10 flat with 10:00.3. Sabbatha Taylor was right behind her, finishing 6th with a time of 10:13.05.
Other Storm runners on the women's side finished within the top-20, like Naomi Pearse who finished with a time of 11:08.48 in 14th place. Elora Jones came in 16th (11:14.14) while Lauryn Downs finished in 19th (11:47.95)
The men also placed third overall. William Ramirez led the way with an 18th place finish with a final time of 21:50.56. David Gammas, Zachary Woods, and Jacob Humphrey all finished within the top 30 with times of 22:36.67, 22:38.86, and 23:51.14 respectively.
SNU will head to Stillwater, Oklahoma to compete in OSU's Cowboy Jamboree Saturday, September 24th.
