Storm Cross Country races against top competition at the Cowboy Jamboree

STILLWATER, Okla. — Southern Nazarene's Men's and Women's cross country teams competed in Oklahoma State's Cowboy Jamboree Saturday morning, running against numerous Division 1, Division II, and community college programs.

The women finished 19th out of the 20 teams competing in the 6K event. Sabbatha Taylor led the way for SNU, finishing 180th with a time of 23:59.8. Madalyn Harper was behind her, finishing 187th with a time of 24:24.3. Elora Jones finished 200th with a time of 26:37.2.

Other runners were Ana Rojas (27:15.8), Afeni Rubio (27:24.5), and Naomi Pearse (27:25.2).

The men placed 25th out of 27 teams competing in the 8K event. William Ramirez led for the men, finishing 208th with a time of 28:38.9. Joel Haynes finished behind Ramirez, placing 216th with a time of 30:00.9. Zachary Woods finished 218th with a time of 30:04.8.

Other notables were David Gammas (30:55.0), Jacob Humphrey (31:46.0), Dennis Green (32:44.1), and Josh Lewis (35:32.4).

SNU will continue racing on Saturday, October 15th at the UCO Invitational, hosted in Edmond, Oklahoma.
