EDMOND, Okla. – The Southern Nazarene men's golf team teed it up once again on Monday for the opening two rounds of the Eagle Invitational hosted by Oklahoma Christian. After posting team scores of 306 and 308 at Oak Tree Country Club (East), SNU finds themselves tied for 11
th on the leaderboard.
Noah Kern carded a couple of solid rounds for head coach
Derrick Taylor on Monday, as he lurks inside the top-15 on the individual leaderboard. He posted rounds of 74-73 and sits just six strokes back of the leaders heading into the final 18 holes tomorrow. Senior
Zander Tway recorded rounds of 74-79 to sit tied for 46
th, while
Landon Hendrix's 160 two round total (87-73) has him tied for 63
rd.
Will Coffman came in with a 79-83 on the opening day while
Brodey Claborn rounded out the Storm lineup with rounds of 79-92 for SNU.
Heading into tomorrow's final round, the Crimson Storm are just five strokes behind Southwestern Oklahoma State in 10
th, and 10 behind Washburn in 9
th. Host school Oklahoma Christian sits atop the leaderboard holding a nine stroke lead over Henderson State. Cameron is third while Central Missouri is in fourth.
Things are extremely tight at the top of the individual leaderboard as six golfers are tied at the top with a 141 score through the opening 36 holes. Kern will look to make a move tomorrow and get in on the party at the top of the board.
Southern Nazarene tees off the final round of the Eagle Invitational tomorrow morning at Oak Tree Country Club at 9:00 a.m.
