EDMOND, Okla. — Southern Nazarene's Cross Country teams competed locally Saturday morning at the University of Central Oklahoma's Broncho classic, putting up a few top-5 and top-10 finishes.
The women competed against the University of Central Oklahoma, Pittsburg State, and Rogers State, finishing second out of those four teams in the 6k. The men competed against Pittsburg State and Rogers State, finishing third out of those three teams in the 8k.
The women were powered by two top-five finishes between Madalyn Harper and Sabbatha Taylor who finished 2nd (23:50.90) and 3rd (23:51.87) respectively, out of 30 total runners.
Elora Jones and Afeni Rubio finished within the top-20 at 17th (25:42.46) and 19th (25:47.06) respectively.
Lauryn Downs also raced, finishing 23rd with a time of 26:44.89.
William Ramirez led the way for the men, securing a 10th place finish with a time of 29:30.35.
David Gammas, Roberto Solid, Jaco Humphrey, Zachary Woods, Dennis Green, Joel Haynes, and Josh Lewis also competed, finishing one after the other in 24th (31:44.79), 25th (32:43.74), 26th (32:59.32), 27th (33:17.35), 28th (34:19.42), 29th (34:34.02), and 30th (35:51.73), respectively.
SNU will prepare for the GAC Championships on November 5th which will take place in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
