Pasque Named GAC Scholar-Athlete of the year

Senior earns second straight conference scholar-athlete honor

GAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Let's just call this time of year what it should be called for the past two years. It's the summer of Colin.

For the last two years, the month of June has been one award after another for Southern Nazarene University's Colin Pasque and the trend continued Thursday. For the second straight year, and deservingly so, the senior was selected as the Great American Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

It is the first time in GAC history that a student-athlete has ever won the award in back-to-back seasons. This year, Pasque graduated with a 3.95 GPA in biology-chemistry and plans to head to medical school. He earned his third All-American nod with a fourth place finish in the pole vault at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. He also earned his second CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team choice and became the third student-athlete in seven years to receive the President's Award for the top graduating student.
