Pasque Nabs Second Academic All-America

Senior earns second straight Academic All-America First Team honor

BETHANY, Okla. — For the second time in as many years Southern Nazarene's Colin Pasque has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team for Track and Field. 
 
Pasque, the President's Award winner for the 2017 graduating class, finished his undergraduate work in biology-chemistry with a 3.95. He notched his third NCAA All-American mark with a fourth place finish at the Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships and took 13th in Indoor. He was the Great American Conference Champion and added another All-Great American Conference honoree for his second straight. He was also selected as the SNU Male Athlete of the Year and received the Dr. Loren Gresham Excellence in Education Award for the top male scholar-athlete at SNU. 
 
Pasque is the second men's track and field student-athlete to earn the honor and the first at the Division II level. He is the only two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selection in school history. The Great American Conference had two of the 15 possible spots first team spots with Oklahoma Baptist garnering the other GAC nod. 
 
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution, be nominated by his/her sports information director and be named Academic All-District First Team.
