BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Southern Nazarene's 2017 campaign came to a close Thursday afternoon as fourth-seeded Henderson State edged the fifth-seeded Crimson Storm 5-4 in the quarterfinals of the Great American Conference Tennis Championships.

Henderson State took a 2-1 lead in doubles with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 but SNU's
Polina Chala and
Noelia Gomez won 8-5 at No. 1.
Anna Garcia and
Dragana Samardzic fell 8-6 at No. 2 and
Trista LeGrande and
Judit Mas fell 8-3 at No. 3.

The Storm responded in singles though by taking three singles match, but the Reddies also picked up three wins to take the match. Chala lost in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, to No. 8 (Central Region) Annie Shannon at No. 1.
Anna Garcia closed out the year with a 6-3, 6-5 win at No. 3 and
Judit Mas also won, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 6.
Dragana Samardzic picked up a win at No. 4 and did it after losing the first set. Samardzic lost the first set 7-6 (7-4), but then won the next two sets, 6-0, 6-1.Â
Trista LeGrande fell 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 and it all came down to No. 2 as it was tied at 4-4.

Gomez lost the first set 6-3, but picked up the second set 7-6 (7-3) to force a third and final set. However, the Reddies' Thea Minor scored a 6-4 win in the final set to secure the match.
