BETONVILLE, Ark. — Southern Nazarene's season came to a close Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Great American Conference Championship with a 5-2 loss to Arkansas Tech.
 
The Golden Suns (12-5) swept all three doubles as Noelia Gomez and Zoe Gray lost 8-2 at No. 1 while Dragana Samardzic and Anna Garcia fell 8-1 at No. 2. Judit Mas and Polina Chala also lost 8-2 at No. 3.
 
In singles, both Gomez and Chala picked up wins at No. 1 and 2. Gomez dropped her first set 6-1 at No. 1, but flipped the script in the second set with a 6-1 win. She polished off the match with a 7-5 victory in the final set. Chala won in straight sets 6-2, 6-0. ATU though won 6-0, 6-1, at No. 6 as Zoe Gray fell before Anna Garcia lost in straight sets at No. 3. Garcia forced a tiebreaker in the first set, but lost 7-6 (7-3) before falling 6-2. Those two wins wrapped up the match for Tech.
 
Samardzic won her first set at No. 4, 7-6, but lost 6-3 in the second and was tied at 3-3 in the third. Mas fell 7-6 (7-2) in the first set and was down 5-2 in the second when the match was called.
