SHAWNEE, Okla. — Southern Nazarene picked up three matches against one of the Central Region's top teams, but couldn't run down No. 4 Oklahoma Baptist Thursday, falling 6-3.

The Crimson Storm (1-7, 0-3 GAC) did get a big upset from No. 13 (Region)
Polina Chala who knocked off No. 7 (Region) Anastasiia Baranova after falling in the first set of No. 1 singles. Chala dropped the first set 6-1, but rallied to win the second, 7-5, and then survived the tiebreaker to win 10-8. No. 16 (Region)
Noelia Gomez also took on a regionally ranked opponent in No. 8 Kateryna Shkot, but Gomez didn't have the same fortune as she fell 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

Chala and Gomez (No. 6 in the region) also looked to move to 3-0 in conference play, but the region's No. 3 team of Baranova and Shkot won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.

Paulina Obreque and
Dragana Samardzic lost in straight sets at No. 3 and 4 singles as Obreque fell 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 while Samardzic lost 6-3, 6-4, at No. 4.
Kylie Lang also lost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.
Judit Mas picked up her first GAC win as she scored a 6-2, 6-7, 10-8 win at No. 6 singles.

Taylor Sullivan lost 8-1 at No. 2 doubles, but Mas, along with Samardzic, picked up their first doubles win of the year with an 8-6 victory.Â
