SEARCY, Ark. — Southern Nazarene nearly picked up its first Great American Conference win, but just missed, falling 5-4 at Harding.

Polina Chala and
Noelia Gomez kept the hot hand going at No. 1 doubles as they moved to 2-0 in the GAC and won their fourth match of their last five. The two picked up an 8-4 win, but the Bisons won 8-0 at No. 2 over
Paulina Obreque and
Taylor Sullivan, and won 8-6 at No. 3 over
Dragana Samardzic and
Judit Mas.

No. 16 (Central Region) Gomez picked up her first win in the GAC at No. 1 singles as she knocked off No. 15 Piper Huey (Central Region), but had to rally after being down a set. Huey won the first set 7-5, but Gomez won the next one 6-4. She then won the final set 10-8 in the super tiebreaker.

No. 13 (Central Region) Plina Chala moved to 5-2 on the year in singles with a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 2. Samardzic also picked up her first GAC win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles.

The Bisons though got wins at Nos. 3, 5 and 6 to pick up the win. Obreque fell 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 while Mas lost 7-5, 6-4 at No. 5.
Kylie Lang also lost 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
