EDMOND, Okla. — Southern Nazarene played in its sixth one-point match, but came up short in a 5-4 loss at Central Oklahoma to close out the regular season.

The Crimson Storm (2-12) picked up an 8-2 win at doubles as
Masha Andrianova and
Natalia Moreno moved to 8-6 on the year.
Polina Chala and
Karina Kotova lost 8-2 at No. 2 and
Kaitlyn Atkeson and
Taylor Sullivan lost 8-0 at No. 3.

Andrianova moved to 10-4 on the year at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Chala nearly took down Alina Gorina, who is ranked No. 11 in the Central Region, at No. 2. The freshman won the first set 6-4, but dropped the second on 6-4. The then lost the tiebreaker 11-9. Moreno also won in straight sets at No. 3, 6-1, 6-2.

Karina Kotova had to go to a third set at No. 4 as she won 6-4 in the first, but lost 6-0 in the second set. She answered the third set with a 6-2 win. Atkeson lost 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 and Sullivan fell, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6.

The Crimson Storm now get set to travel to their first Great American Conference Championships Friday and Saturday.
