SHAWNEE, Okla. — Southern Nazarene took a 6-3 loss on the road at No. 10 (NAIA) Oklahoma Baptist as it fell to a future Great American Conference opponent.
 
The Bison (8-5) took a 2-1 lead after doubles and swept four of the six singles matches in straight sets. Masha Andrianova and Natalia Moreno fell to the NAIA's No. 1-ranked doubles team of Anastasia Baranova and Kateryna Shkot 8-1. Kaitlyn Atkeson and Taylor Sullivan also lost 8-2 at No. 3.
 
Polina Chala and Karina Kotova though picked up an 8-6 win to record their second straight at No. 2 and moved to 5-2 on the year.
 
Andrianova suffered just her second loss of the year at No. 1 singles as she fell 7-5, 6-3 to Baranova who is ranked No. 2 in the NAIA while Chala fell 6-4, 6-2 to No. 18 Shkot at No. 2 singles. The two singles wins by the Crimson Storm (2-5) came at No. 3 and 4. Moreno knocked off No. 50 Charvat after losing the first set 6-0. Moreno then won the second set 6-4 before winning a tiebreaker 10-3. Kotova also had to battle back after losing the first set 6-3. She won the second set 6-1 and then outlasted Abbe 11-9 in the tiebreaker.
 
SNU also lost at No. 5 and 6 as Atkeson fell 6-2, 6-1, while Sullivan lost 6-0, 6-0.
 
The Crimson Storm now get set for a pair of matches Saturday as they host Texas A&M Kingsville at 9 a.m. and Henderson State in a GAC match at 3 p.m.
