ABIELENE, Texas ­— Southern Nazarene dropped just its second match of the year at No. 1 doubles and that started a quick downward trend as No. 2 Dallas Baptist upended SNU 5-1 in the first game of the NCCAA Central Region Tournament.
 
Masha Andrianova and Natalia Moreno fell 8-6 at No. 1 doubles 8-6 to move to 9-2 on the year and the Storm also gave up No. 3 doubles in a default. Marina Shipilova and Karina Kotova did outlast their opponents at No. 2 doubles winning 9-8.
 
DBU picked up three quick singles matches as Haley Cantwell lost 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 singles before Kotova lost 6-6, 6-1 at No. 5. SNU also defaulted at No. 6.
 
The loss drops the Storm to 6-5 overall.
 
SNU will now play Colorado Christian Saturday at 8:30 a.m. before playing McMurry at 12 p.m.
