ADA, Okla. — Southern Nazarene bounced back from a tough Great American Conference loss Monday, with a 5-4 win over East Central to avenge its only GAC loss from last season.

The Crimson Storm (5-2, 3-1 GAC) took advantage early as
Masha Andrianova and
Natalia Moreno moved to 6-1 on the year and 3-1 in GAC play with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
Marina Shipilova and
Karina Kotova won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles to move to 3-1 in GAC play.
Haley Cantwell and
Bekah Stewart fell 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

Andrianova stayed undefeated on the year at 7-0 as she won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Shipilova improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the GAC with a tough-fought, three-set win at No. 3 singles. Shipilova didn't pick up a game in the first set falling 6-0, but rallied to win the second 6-3 and then brought it home with a 6-4 win in the final set.

It all came down to No. 4 singles and Kotova for SNU. With it being tied at 4-4 with SNU losing at No. 5 and 6 singles, Kotova picked up a 6-4 win in the first set, but dropped the second set 6-0. Kotova and Agostina Moran needed a tiebreaker in the final set, as Kotova picked up the 7-5 win to gain the victory in the final set. It was the junior's third straight win as she moved to 4-3 on the year and 3-1 in the GAC.

SNU will now travel to Harding for a 10 a.m. GAC match Saturday.
