Spoiling Senior Night

Northwestern Oklahoma State knocked off SNU in overtime

Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Northwestern Oklahoma State scored 103 points and went 27-for-34 from the free throw line while outscoring the Crimson Storm 60-15 off of the bench as the Rangers knocked off Southern Nazarene in overtime 103-91 on senior night.
 
SNU (12-14, 9-1 GAC) had a nine point lead 82-73 with only 2:56 left to play in regulation and looked to be headed for its thirteenth victory of the season. The Rangers (7-19, 7-13 GAC) then went on an 11-2 run to close out the second half and sent the game into overtime with the score tied 84-84. NWOSU went on to score 19 points in overtime while the Storm only scored seven and the Rangers held on for the win.
 
Aminata Fall led the Storm with 33 points and grabbed 18 rebounds while shooting 16-of-32 from the field. Kristin Milster tallied 25 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists in her last game inside the Sawyer Center. Abby Boyd added 12 points on 5-10 shooting and Danielle Gaddis scored nine points and brought down five rebounds.
 
SNU shot 46.8 percent from the field going 36-of-77 and went 3-for-12 from beyond the arc shooting 25 percent. The Storm went to the free throw line 25 times going 16-of-25 from the charity stripe and dished out 19 total assists. NWOSU shot 47.1 percent from the field and went 12-19 from the 3-point line shooting 63.2 percent. SNU forced The Rangers into 15 turnovers and the Storm scored 19 points off of NWOSU's errors. SNU outscored the Rangers 38-34 in the paint and scored 17 second chance points.
 
In the first half neither team could separate itself from the other. SNU had the advantage 40-39 after Fall drained a jumper. The Storm shot 48.6 percent from the field in the first half but went 0-4 from the 3-point line. SNU limited NWOSU to only 40.6 percent shooting from the field the but allowed the Rangers to hit five first half 3-pointers and shoot 71.4 percent from downtown.
 
The loss was the Storm's final game of the season.
