The Eye Of The Storm

Southern Nazarene earned its second straight win Saturday

Box Score DURANT, Okla. — Southern Nazarene held Southeastern Oklahoma State to only 26.7 percent shooting from the field and only 27.3 percent shooting from the 3-point line as the Crimson Storm won their second straight game knocking off the Savage Storm 75-65.
 
SNU (12-12, 9-9 GAC) set the tone in the first half, jumping out to a 37-24 lead with 3:32 left to play in the half. The Storm only allowed SEOSU to score four more points in the half and had a comfortable 42-28 lead headed into the break. Aminata Fall scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds in the first half while shooting 62.5 percent from the field. Abby Boyd added nine first half points and Kristin Milster scored seven.
 
The Storm only allowed the Savage Storm to shoot 25 percent from the field in the first half and SNU hit seven 3-pointers going 7-of-18 from downtown. SNU scored seven second chance points and went to the free throw line six times going 3-of-6 from the charity stripe.
 
SEOSU (13-10, 10-7 GAC) cut the Storm's lead to six 44-38 with 16:17 left to play in the second half. SNU though, put together a 10-4 run to stretch its lead to 54-42 with 11:09 left to play. The Storm were able to hold on from there to earn their ninth conference game of the season.
 
Milster led all scorers with 19 points while dishing out seven assists and shooting 6-of-14 from the field. Fall scored 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting and notched her 22nd double-double of the season grabbing 14 rebounds. Abby Boyd tallied 14 points and went 3-for-6 from downtown while Ashleigh Hutchings added eight points and dished out six assists.
 
The Storm scored 22 points in the paint and went to the free throw line 24 times shooting 75 percent. SNU dished out 16 assists compared to Southeastern Oklahoma State's 10 and scored 10 points off the bench.
 
SNU will now go to Southwestern Oklahoma State for a Great American Conference game, Tuesday, at 5.30 p.m.
