Box Score ADA, Okla. — You couldn't ask for a better defensive stand in the last few moments of a game, but East Central's Colby Carr hit a fade away 3-pointer with 4.8 seconds left to lift ECU to a 62-61 win in overtime over Southern Nazarene.

The Crimson Storm (7-7, 5-3 GAC) had to fight from behind to force overtime after trailing 54-52 with 1:48 to play. The Storm got two steals in two straight possessions and then finally got a layup by
CJ Smith to tie it at 54. The Tigers (9-6, 6-3 GAC) had a couple of chances to win it in the last few seconds, but SNU got another defensive stand to force overtime.

The two teams traded three leads in overtime and SNU was on top 61-59 after a big 3-pointer by Smith with 1:23 to play. The Storm then had to in-bound the ball with 14.8 seconds left and
Quan Conner was fouled with 13.9 to play. Conner missed the front end of the one-and-one and ECU called a timeout. Then with four seconds left, Colby Carr drove to his right and buried a trey from 23-feet out to put the Tigers up 62-61.
LB Willis had a chance to win it at the last second, but his 3-point shot fell short.

Smith finished with 24 points, going 10-for-16 from the floor. Conner had 21 points and eight rebounds while he went 7-for-16 from the field and 5-for-12 from 3-point range.

The Storm shot just 36.4 percent from the field and were 9-for-33 from the 3-point range. SNU was just 4-for-7 from the free-throw line.

The Crimson Storm come back home and will take on Southeastern Oklahoma State, Saturday, at 4 p.m.Â
