Twice the Fun

Southern Nazarene gave up just one match in two wins Saturday

Bolivar has won eight straight in singles and four straight in doubles.

EDMOND, Okla. —
Southern Nazarene won back-to-back matches for the second time this season and swept its first opponent of the year with an 8-1 win over Harding and a 9-0 route of Henderson State.
 
The Crimson Storm (4-7, 3-1 GAC) won all three doubles matches and won the top five singles matches in the win over Harding. The Central Region's No. 4-ranked doubles team of Masha Andrianova and Marina Shipilova won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles while Deisi Bolivar and Natalia Moreno won 8-3 at No. 2. Karina Kotova and Payton Bergmann won 8-3 at No. 3.
 
SNU won all five of its singles matches in straight sets. Andrianova won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 while Moreno won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2. Bolivar extended her winning streak to seven straight with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 3 and Shipilova won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4. Kotova won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 while Bergmann gave up SNU only loss as she fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
 
The Crimson Storm didn't even lose a set against the Reddies as SNU gave up no more than four games in any set between singles and doubles. Andrianova and Shipilova won 8-4 while Bolivar and Moreno won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. Kotova and Bergman also won their second straight doubles match, 8-2, at No. 3.
 
Andrianova didn't even drop a game, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 while Moreno won her third straight with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2. Bolivar won her eighth straight match with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 while Shipilova won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4. Kotova won her second straight at No. 5 with a 6-4, 6-1 win while Kim Wiedemann won her first match of the year after coming back from injury with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6.
