Box Score BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Despite
Aminata Fall scoring a career-high 24 points for the second straight night, and fourth time this year, Southern Nazarene didn't have enough juice to win its 11
th straight, falling 73-64 to Oklahoma Christian in the NCCAA Central Region Tournament championship game.
The Crimson Strom (18-10), who took their first loss since Jan. 24, gave up 25 points off of 20 turnovers. The Lady Eagles (19-11) also outscored the SNU bench 29-10.
Fall added 16 rebounds and six blocks as the sophomore went 11-for-16 from the field.
Oumoul Thiam scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two assists.
Annie Kassongo also had 11 points while
Kristin Milster had eight points off of the bench.
The Crimson Storm shot 42.6 percent from the field, but went 5-for-16 from outside the perimeter and just 7-for-13 from the charity stripe.
The two exchanged nine leads and tied seven times before Oklahoma Christian took the lead for good at 21-20 with 9:06 left in the first half. The Storm got within one twice before going to the half down 38-34. The Storm tied OC twice in the second half at 41 and 43, but the Lady Eagles used 9-2 run to lead 52-45 with 12:11 left. Southern Nazarene cut it to 56-54 with 7:52 to play, but that was as close as SNU came the rest of the way.
Despite the loss though, SNU did receive an at-large bid to the NCCAA National Tournament, March 13-16, in Winona Lake, Ind.
