Southern Nazarene couldn't pick up a singles match against UCO

EDMOND, Okla. —
Southern Nazarene looked to be in control after winning two of its three doubles against Central Oklahoma, but UCO won all six singles matches to take the match away from SNU at 7-2.
 
The Crimson Storm (0-2) scored two big wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Marina Shipilova and Masha Andrianova downed  Antonella Rossini and Rose Cabato, 8-6. Deisi Bolivar and Karina Kotova had to use a tiebreaker to upend Petra Pesic and Alina Gorina 9-8 (7-4). The only loss came at No. 3 doubles as Laura Klingert and Ilga Racika-Racko defeated Natalia Moreno and Payton Bergmann.
 
The Bronchos though swept through singles taking all six matches.
 
Rossini and Andrianova went the distance and more at No. 1 singles as Rossini won the first set 7-5 before Andrianova won 6-1. Rossini then outlasted Andrianova 13-11 in the final set. Moreno and Pesic went the full three sets at No. 2 doubles. Pesic won the first 6-2 and Moreno switched it around for a 6-2 set win in the second. Pesic though won the third set 6-2. Shipilova and Cabato traded 6-3 sets as Cabato took the first and Shipilova took the second. Cabato ended it though by winning the third set 7-5.
 
Gornia took Bolivar down in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 while Klinger swept Kotova in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Racika-Racko also swept Bergmann, 6-0, 6-1.
 
The Crimson Storm get set to travel to Oklahoma Baptist, Tuesday, for a 3 p.m. match.
