Southern Nazarene falls to Northwestern in regular season finale'

SNU closes out the season just over .500.
Box Score ALVA, Okla. — Garett Butler scored 15 points for Southern Nazarene, hitting 6-for-13 from the floor in a 78-46 loss at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
Butler was 3-for-8 from behind the arc and also had a steal in 37 minutes of action. Trey Mohair pitched in nine points and three assists for SNU and Nate Callen had seven points.
 
The Crimson Storm (14-12, 7-9 GAC) shot 30.8 percent from the field going 14 for 48 and shot 27.3 percent from the field going five for 23. Neither team was turnover prone as the Storm turned it over nine times and the Rangers only turned it over eight times. The Rangers were able to score 13 points off of SNU's turnovers while the Storm only scored seven points off of the Rangers mistakes.
 
SNU never led in the game and tried to play catch up the entire way. SNU fell behind 10-1 early in the first half, but cut it to one making it 14-13 at the 12:02 mark in the first half. SNU never got that close again. The second half was all Rangers as they pulled away for a 32-point win.
 
Southern Nazarene will now prepare to play in the NCCAA Central Region Tournament Thursday. The brackets will be released Wednesday.
