Stormy Afternoon

Southeastern wins battle of Storms

The Crimson Storm are down to their final game of the regular season.
Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Quan Conner scored a game-high 18 points and had six rebounds for Southern Nazarene in a 52-47 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State.

The Crimson Storm (14-11, 9-10 GAC) didn't lead the entire first half and didn't take their first lead until 4:14 left to play. The Savage Storm (14-10, 10-8 GAC) led by as much as 12 and were up 41-31 with 9:29 to play. That's when Trey Mohair got a bucket to fall in the pain and that sparked a 10-0 run capped by a Bradley Toone jumper that tied the game at 41.

Southeastern took a 44-43 lead, but SNU answered right back when Garrett Butler nailed a trey to give the Storm their first lead of the game at 44-43. The Savage Storm though responded with a trey of their own and never trailed again.

Butler finished with 15 points and five rebounds off of the bench as all four seniors along with Conner started. Antwone Jackson added seven points and seven rebounds off of the bench.

The Crimson Storm shot just 34 percent from the field, but hit nine treys. SNU also went just 4-for-7 from the free-throw line. Southeastern turned it over just seven times and scored 15 points off of 14 SNU turnovers.

Southern Nazarene now looks to close out the regular season with a 4 p.m. GAC game, Saturday, at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
