Southern Nazarene notched its seventh straight win and notched two GAC records as well

Fall now holds two GAC single-season records this year.
Box Score ADA, Okla. — The hottest team in the Great American Conference got their seventh straight win as Southern Nazarene knocked off East Central on the road,  81-72.
 
The Crimson Storm (15-9, 12-6 GAC) played dominant defense against the Lady Tigers (17-7, 12-6 GAC) holding the Tigers to just 32 percent shooting going just 26-for-81 from the field. SNU shot 38 percent from the field hitting 27-for-70.
 
Aminata Fall continued her streak of dominance scoring 18 points, grabbing seven rebounds and tagging on two assists. The sophomore broke the Great American Conference record rebounds in a single-season and continued to extend her GAC blocks record with one. Oumoul Thiam led the way for SNU with 21 points and also had seven rebounds. Annie Kassongo chipped in 13 points and grabbed five boards while Kristin Milster had 11 points and eight rebounds off of the bench.
 
SNU trailed by as many as twelve in the first half. The Storm were down 17-5 at the 13:44 mark before Kassongo was able to cut the lead to ten with a layup. The Storm gradually cut at the lead until the 7:55 mark in the first half when Thiam hit a layup to give the Storm it's first lead at 22-21. Miranda Taylor put the cap on the 23-4 run with a layup as SNU led 28-21 with 6:20 left in the first. The Storm went into the break with a six point 35-29 lead over the Tigers, but surrendered the lead at the 17:03 mark as ECU opened the second half on an 11-1 run. The Storm answered right back though with a 19-5 run, capped by a Thiam trey, to lead 55-44 with 11:56 to play
 
ECU got within one twice in the final six minutes, but never could overtake SNU.
 
Up next for the Storm is Southeastern Oklahoma State inside the Sawyer Center as SNU honors its 2012-13 senior class for a 2 p.m. game Saturday.
