Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — That's five and counting for Southern Nazarene as SNU won a season-high fifth straight with a 95-80 victory over Southern Arkansas.
The Crimson Storm (13-9, 10-6 GAC) are rolling through the second half of the Great American Conference season as the Storm have gone 5-1 over the last six.
Oumoul Thiam led the way, scoring 28 points and dishing out four assists. She also had four rebounds and three steals. Thiam went 9-for-18 from the field and hit a trio of 3-pointers. She also went 7-for-9 from the free-throw line.
Aminata Fall added another double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds while
Annie Kassongo had 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals.
Kristin Milster also had 10 points off of the bench.
Southern Nazarene blistered the nets shooting 55.6 percent (35-for-63) from the field. The Storm scored 48 of their points in the paint. SNU held Southern Arkansas to just 39.7 percent from the field.
The two exchanged nine leads in the first half with neither team leading by more than nine. The Storm held a 38-29 lead with 3:54 left in the half, but SAU closed the half with a 10-0 run to take a 39-38 lead into the locker room. The Lady Muleriders led 43-40 early in the second half, but a Fall free throw an d a Thiam trey sparked a 23-10 run and SNU never trailed from there.
The Crimson Storm now get set to host Arkansas-Monticello, Saturday, for a 2 p.m. GAC contest.
