Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Ryan Aaron scored a game-high 24 points for southern Nazarene in a 93-82 loss to Henderson State.
The senior nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds.
Brady Burford and
Quan Conner combined for 37 points as Burford had 19 and Conner had 18. Burford notched a double-double with 11 rebounds and added four assists as well. Conner tied a career-high with five 3-pointers, going 5-for-11 from downtown. He also had four assists.
Tyrone Lyons also chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Garrett Butler also had nine points with three 3-pointers.
The Crimson Storm (7-5, 2-4 GAC) struggled from the free-throw line, going 13-for-23. On the reverse end, the Reddies (8-3, 3-2 GAC) went 29-for-36 from the line, 21-for-26 in the second half. Henderson State also scored 24 points off of 18 SNU turnovers.
SNU trailed by as much as 14 in the first half and were down 46-34 at the half, but thanks to seven second-half 3-pointers, the Storm cut the deficit to six twice and were down just 63-57 with 12:12 left to play. That was as close as Southern Nazarene came though as Henderson withstood any run SNU could make.
The Reddies fired 45.6 percent from the floor and that was after a 52.9 percent performance in the first half as they shot 18-for-34. Henderson scored 42 of its points in the paint.
Southern Nazarene now hits the road as it will play Arkansas-Monticello, Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. in a GAC contest.
