SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark.— It might look like déjà vu for Southern Nazarene and Lubbock Christian and it works out just for SNU as the 16th-ranked Crimson Storm roared into the SAC Tournament championship game with an 81-73 win over No. 4 Lubbock Christian.

For the second straight year the Crimson Storm (24-8) have knocked off the higher ranked and seeded Lubbock Christian in the semifinals of the SAC Tournament. SNU now advances to its second straight tournament title game where it will play Oklahoma City in the championship game, Saturday, at 4 p.m.

Oumoul Thiam led the way again for the second straight day as the junior guard scored 21 points, going 5-for-8 from the field and 3-for-4 from 3-point range. She was also 8-for-11from the free-throw line. Abbey Marra played a huge role in the paint for the Storm as she scored 20 points and added 12 rebounds, going 10-for-15 from the field.

Five total players scored in double figures for the Storm as Sharmeda Johnson had 13 points and six rebounds, Logan Martin scored 11 points and had five rebounds and Ashley Mantooth had 10 points.

The Crimson Storm lit the nets up in the second half going 70.4 percent from the field on 19-of-27 shooting from the floor. The Storm shot 50 percent from the field overall and were 6-for-11 from 3-point range.

SNU trailed 29-27 at the half, but opened the second half with a 13-5 run capped by a Marra jumper as the Storm took a 40-34 lead with 16:04 left to play. SNU led by as much as 10 in the second half and were up 64-54 with 5:56 left, but LCU kept firing and cut it to four three different times, but came no closer than that. The Storm closed it out with six straight free throws.

The win sets up a battle between two of the most historic women's programs in NAIA history as SNU plays in its last SAC Tournament ever.
