Southern Nazarene's comeback comes up short

West has averaged 21.5 points per game over the last four games.
Box Score SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. — Jon West tied a career-high with 26 points for No. 23 Southern Nazarene in a 74-70 loss to No. 1 Oklahoma Baptist in the semifinals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.
 
West went 6-for-10 from the field and 4-for-6 from 3-point range. He also went 10-for-12 from the free-throw line. Ryan Aaron went 8-for-11 form the field and hit all three free-throw attempts as he scored 19. Tyrone Lyons also added 14 points and four blocks. Lyons now needs just two more blocks to set the school's single-season record. Mike Green has the record with 58 set in the 1984-85 season.
 
SNU shot 53.3 percent from the field going 24-for-45 and were 5-for-10 from 3-point range, but OBU outrebounded the storm by 12 (39-27) and had 22 of those on the offensive end.
 
Emmanuel Wilson scored 26 points against the Storm going 10-for-17.
 
The Bison led from start to finish and led by as much as 17 in the first half before taking a 45-30 lead at the break. OBU twice held leads of 17 in the second half with the second coming at 64-47 with 7:23 left when West hit a pair of free throws to spark a 23-6 run to end the game as SNU cut the lead to four at 74-70 before the clock hit 0:00.
 
SNU will now turn its focus to the Buffalo Funds NAIA National Championship, March 14-20, in Kansas City, Mo.
