SHAWNEE, Okla. — No. 10 Southern Nazarene finally got a break in the weather that turned into a break in the win column as the Crimson Storm knocked of Oklahoma Baptist, 7-2.
The Crimson Storm (1-1) and Lady Bison split No. 1 and 2 doubles with OBU taking No. 1 8-6 while
Deisi Bolivar and
Karina Kotova won 8-4 at No. 2.
Marina Shipilova and
Hilary Galbraith also picked up a win at No. 3 after Emily Wilson had to pull out, giving the match to SNU.
In singles,
Masha Andrianova bounced back with a comeback win over OBU's top player. Andrianova fell behind a set 6-3, but answered to win the second, 6-2, and the tiebreaker at 10-7. SNU dropped No. 2 singles, but won out in the rest. Bolivar, Shipilova and Kotova all won in straight sets at No. 3, 4 and 5 singles. Kimberly Widemann also picked up a default at No. 6 from Wilson.
Bolivar now is undefeated at 2-0 in both singles and doubles.
