Dry Spell Does in Storm

Southern Nazarene drops first home game of the year to UCO

Southern Nazarene now sets its eyes on GAC play.
Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Oumoul Thiam scored a game-high 28 points and had seven rebounds for Southern Nazarene in an 86-69 loss to Central Oklahoma.
 
The Crimson Storm (3-2) hit a rut midway through the first half and never recovered.
 
SNU led 19-17 at the 10:24 mark in the first half, but the Bronchos went on a 27-7 run to close out the half and took a 44-26 lead into the locker room. UCO pushed the lead to 71-41 midway through the second half, before the Storm cut lead to 79-65 with a 24-8 run, but that was as close as SNU came.
 
The Storm fired 41.0 percent from the field, 51.7 percent in the second half, after going just 10-for-32 in the first half. SNU was just 1-for-6 from 3-point range in the first half, but came alive late with a few treys, but UCO had already built a large cushion.
 
Annie Kassongo finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and seven blocks while Katie Beebe had 12 points. Aminata Fall finished with eight rebounds and six boards.
 
The Crimson Storm now get set to open Great American Conference play, Nov. 29, at Arkansas Tech.
