Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Ryan Aaron scored a season-high 23 points for Southern Nazarene in a 78-86 loss to Oklahoma Christian.
The Crimson Storm (1-1) played catch up from early in the first half on, but never trailed by more than nine in the second half. SNU made late runs and got as close as two, but never could gain the edge on the Eagles (3-1).
Kendre Talley scored a game-high 25 points for Oklahoma Christian as OC shot 46.8 percent from the field and buried eight 3-pointers.
Aaron added seven rebounds as well as the senior shot 6-for-12 from the floor and scored almost half his points at the line going 11-for-13.
Quan Conner scored a season-high 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Brady Burford scored 12 points and had six rebounds.
SNU shot 42.6 from the field and struggled from outside the arc hitting just five of its 20 attempts. SNU did shoot 80.8 percent from the line hitting 21-for-26.
Oklahoma Christian scored 25 points off of 19 SNU turnovers and outscored the Storm's bench 22-10.
OC led by as much as 12 in the first half with a 33-21 lead, but the Storm cut the deficit to 37-35 with a 14-4 run and trailed just 42-37 at the half. Southern Nazarene cut it to 64-62 with 6:20 left to play, but that was as close as the Storm came the rest of the way.
SNU will now get ready for the Thanksgiving Nazarene Classic, Nov. 23 and 24, at MidAmerica Nazarene University.
