Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — No. 16 Southern Nazarene may have taken one on the chin Saturday, but it was SNU who was delivering the blows Monday in a 79-66 win over Wayland Baptist.
 
The Crimson Storm (10-3, 3-2 SAC) had its best shooting performance within Sooner Athletic Conference play, firing 52.8 percent (28-53) from the field. SNU nearly shot 60 percent in the second half, going 14-for-24.
 
SNU found its way through the Pioneers' defense all day as SNU scored 38 points in the paint and took advantage of 15 WBU turnovers, scoring 22 points off those miscues. The Storm got 46 points from the bench with 42 of those coming from Ryan Aaron and Tyrone Lyons. Aaron scored a game-high 26 points and added six rebounds and three assists. He went 10-for-14 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers and was 4-for-5 at the free-throw line. Lyons added 16 points and four rebounds and set the school's single-game record with six blocks.
 
Daniel White notched his third double-double of the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds and added four assists as well. Horace McGloster chipped in with eight points and three rebounds.
 
The Crimson Storm also shot a season-high from the charity stripe hitting 19 of their 25 attempts.
 
Wayland Baptist used an 11-2 lead early in the first at 17-10 midway through the opening half, but a McGloster three sparked an 8-0 run by SNU to put the Storm up 18-17 with 8:51 left. The two traded six more leads before Shane Callaghan broke a 27-27 tie with a bucket in the paint and sparked an 8-0 run by the Storm to take a 35-27 lead. The Pioneers answered though by scoring the final five points, including a last second three to make it 35-32 at the half.
 
The Pioneers got within one at 35-34 in the opening seconds of the second half, but never took the lead away from SNU. The Storm did not lead by more than nine through the first 15 minutes of the second half and were up 64-57 when Aaron hit a jumper in the paint and then buried a pair of free throws to put SNU up 68-57. White then gave the Storm its biggest lead of the game when he took a pass off an Adrian Hunter steal and slammed it home to give SNU a 70-57 lead with 3:23 left and the Storm cruised from there.
 
SNU will now hit the road and will travel to Oklahoma Christian, Thursday, for an 8 p.m. conference game.
