OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Just a few hours after their female counterparts synched a spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game, No. 15 Southern Nazarene matched with a 90-48 rout of No. 25 Rogers State.
The Crimson Storm (25-7) might have played one of its most complete games of the year they shot a season-high 61.1 percent from 3-point range, bombing 11 treys. SNU hit five in the first half and went 6-for-8 from downtown in the second. SNU shot 47.7 percent (31-65) from the field and 51.4 percent (18-35) in the second half.
Daniel White scored a season-high 18 points off of the bench as he went 7-for-9 from the field and hit the only three he attempted. He also went 3-for-4 from the line and pulled down four rebounds. He was just two points shy of tying a career-high.
It was all Crimson Storm from the opening tip. SNU scored the first eight points of the game and the rout was on. The last time RSU stayed within single digits, was a the 11:23 mark at 18-9. The Storm then closed out the half on a 25-12 run to lead 43-21 at the half.
Southern Nazarene opened the second half on a 27-9 run to take its biggest lead of the game at 73-30 with 10 minutes left.
The Crimson Storm will now play Northwestern Oklahoma State for the Sooner Athletic Conference Title, Saturday, at 8 p.m. in a rematch of the 2007 SAC Tournament Championship game. That was the last time SNU won the SAC Tournament with an 82-68 win over the Rangers.
Northwestern stole a game away from SNU up in Alva, 84-77, before the Storm thumped the Rangers inside the Sawyer Center back in February, 81-50.
