Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Horace McGloster scored a team-high 14 points and nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds for Southern Nazarene in a 65-51 loss to Lubbock Christian.
The 16
th-ranked Crimson Storm (9-3, 2-2 SAC) struggled from the field shooting just 35.6 percent and that was after a second half in which SNU hit 13-for-31 (41.9 percent) in the second half.
McGloster had seven in each half as the senior went 6-for-12 from the field.
Aaron Jones scored a season-high 10 points off of the bench and added two blocks and two steals.
Daniel White and
Ryan Aaron who averaged a combined 33.8 points coming into the game were held to 15 combined points. White finished with seven while Aaron had eight.
Jon West also had nine points and seven rebounds.
Lubbock Christian (6-5, 2-2 SAC) controlled the paint as Rashad Sample and company slashed through the SNU defense for a handful of layups. Sample finished with 15 while Jeff Ayisire added 14. Anthony Brancato also had 12.
LCU outscored SNU 44-28 in the pain and notched 26 points off of 20 SNU turnovers.
SNU scored the first bucket of the game, but the Chaps answered with a 21-8 run to lead 21-10 with 7:57 in the first. The Storm cut it to 25-19 at the half, but LCU scored the first seven points of the half and then stretched its lead to 37-22 early in the second.
Jones tried to spark SNU as he drained a jumper to ignite a 13-6 run to make it 43-35 with 11:33 left, but that was as close as the Storm came as the Chaps closed it out.
SNU will now host Wayland Baptist, Monday, for a 3 p.m. game.
