Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Despite having just five players suit up, Dallas Christian held their own for a while before No. 16 Southern Nazarene put its last non-conference game to bed in the second half with an 80-58 win over the Crusaders.
The Crimson Storm (9-2) have won three straight and have won nine of their last 10.
Ryan Aaron led the way with 19 points off of the bench and had a few electrifying dunks that would have made any highlight reel. The junior missed just one shot all night; going 8-for-9 from the field and added six rebounds as well.
Tyrone Lyons was nearly as impressive with 13 points off of the bench, going 6-for-8 from the field and chipped in with seven rebounds.
Daniel White got in foul trouble early, but finished strong scoring 12 of his 14 in the second half. He also added four rebounds.
Horace McGloster also had 12 points.
Aaron Jones also added eight points off of the bench. Eight players in all scored at least one field goal as SNU owned the lane. The Storm scored over half its points in the paint with 36 and held DCC to just 22 in the lane. SNU also got half its scoring from the bench.
The Storm posted their second highest shooting percentage of the season firing 59.6 percent from field (34-for-57) and hit five 3-pointers. Southern Nazarene nearly hit 70 percent in the second half from the field going 20-for-29. SNU also scored 25 points off of 21 DCC turnovers.
SNU took its biggest lead of the first half at 26-15 on a pair of Aaron free throws with seven minutes remaining. DCC answered back with a 12-6 run to cut it to 32-27 with 1:45 left. Another Aaron dunk made it 34-27 right at the break.
Dallas Christian got within three at 34-31 just seconds into the second half, but that was as close as they came. SNU went on a 29-8 run over the next 10 minutes to take a 63-39 lead and put it in cruise control from there.
The Storm now get set to host Lubbock Christian, Saturday, for a 3 p.m. conference game.
